Autumn in South Tyrol

So beautifully quiet!
Autumn in South Tyrol.

Deep relaxation. Enchanting experiences. True delight.
November is a magical time at the Weisses Kreuz in Burgeis.

We are open until 30th November!

Even the leaves, carried gently by the wind, seem to be in no hurry. Wherever you look, the whole landscape breathes tranquility. When November arrives, a remarkable time begins in Burgeis. Everything feels so peaceful. Calm. Only a few travelers know about the quiet beauty of November, about the surprisingly many hours of sunshine and the profound stillness that embraces mountains and valleys, forests and meadows.

Look forward to endless walks in magnificent nature. Cozy mornings in a soft bed. A leisurely breakfast with a second, or even third, cup of cappuccino. Finest alpine wellness. And the treasures of South Tyrolean cuisine.

But late autumn is by no means boring. This is the time for carefully selected events and creative pastimes.

Have you ever heard the local Vinschger dialect? Or splashed in a pool beneath a starry sky?

No? Then it’s about time!

Culinary delights await, too. Discover the world of natural wines at the Winemaker’s Winetable, enjoy a traditional Törggelen in our cozy Kromer Stube, or join us for one of our special events.

    To the offers

  • As the autumn days grow cooler, there’s no better place to relax and unwind than our AURA MEA Spa. From 1 November onwards, our saunas will be heated from 12:00 noon, giving you even more time to enjoy their soothing warmth.
Five days a week, our sauna masters enhance the experience with a varied program of guided sauna rituals. From classic sauna infusions and steam bath peelings to aromatic rituals, there’s something different to enjoy throughout the week.

  • Did you know that the traditional irrigation canals known as “Waale” in the Upper Vinschgau Valley are part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage?

Join Marlene on a leisurely hike and learn more about the history of the Waale and the important role they have played in local agriculture for centuries.
The route leads through the beautiful countryside around Mals, following several Waale and the Sonnensteig trail to the charming "Solis" garden café, where we’ll stop for a short break. Afterwards, we continue to Mals and take the local bus back to Burgeis.

From 12 October to 28 November (once a week)

  • For anyone visiting South Tyrol in autumn, Törggelen is a must – this centuries-old custom is an essential part of South Tyrolean culture. Rustic traditional dishes are served: sauerkraut, homemade sausages, dumplings, Schlutzkrapfen, smoked meats, and ribs. For dessert, traditional South Tyrolean pastries, roasted chestnuts and new wine (Suser) await – all homemade, of course.

At the Weisses Kreuz, the evening begins with a refined autumnal chestnut–porcini cream soup, followed by homemade speck, alpine butter from Burgeis and Paarl bread. The Törggelen delights, prepared in our own Weisses Kreuz style, are served in our cozy “Kromer Stube.”

Both house guests and external visitors are welcome to reserve a traditional Törggelen evening with us!

    Every Wednesday to Saturday
    from 14 October to 28 November 2026

    €50 per person (external guests)
€30 per person (supplement for house guests with half-board)

  • Alpine – Mediterranean: South Tyrol’s wine grows where the North already feels like the South.

Together with sommelier Carmen, you’ll visit a local winery or wine cellar in the valley, combined with a fine tasting on site.
